As Halloween is getting closer we've tried changing some of our recipes into scary and fun foods, to surprise our guests with. We have enough recipes to serve a full meal, from appetizers to desserts. This is the first recipe we tried so it's the first guide we'll share with you.

Walnut crescent cookies
Walnut crescent cookies, beside being delicious, are easy to make and don't take much time. You need all-purpose flour, butter, eggs, walnuts, sugar and vanilla extract (or vanilla sugar).

Poached meringues (floating island)
Someone said once that simple desserts are the best... We agree with this, as Poached meringues are amongst our favorite! All you need for this recipe are eggs, milk, superfine sugar and vanilla pods (or vanilla sugar, but it's not as tasty).

Stuffed (devilled) eggs
Rabbit cooked in wine
As the winter holidays are close I thought I'd share a recipe suitable for this period of time. I used 5 pieces of (farm) rabbit (3 back legs and 2 pieces of torso). I added onions, garlic, bay leaves, salt, pepper and a lot of white wine.

Curry rice with chicken
I always enjoyed improvising when cooking. One of my favorite foods obtained while improvising is my curry rice with chicken. It started from some bits of chicken left from another recipe and an inexplicable craving for curry (I'm not really fond of curry). I used brown rice, coconut milk (I love it and always have a few cans in the pantry), chicken meat, carrots, ginger, hazelnuts and spices: curry, pepper, a bit of chilly and salt.

Sticky Ribs (sweet and spicy)
One of my favorite recipes for grilled pork ribs is the sweet and spicy sticky-ribs. They are delicious but - be aware - you must be ready to get dirty because it's a shame to bother with a fork and knife instead of thoroughly gnawing them to the bone :)
